Greasy pole is an activity that is usually done during the annual Carriacou Regatta festival.
What is it?
The Greasy pole is a fun activity done which involves the use of a used telephone pole. The pole is suspended over the sea. This allows for participants to keep safe during the activity as they can fall into the sea if they do not make it to the end of the greasy pole.
The winner of the activity is the person who makes it farthest out on the greasy pole. It is typically an activity participated by men.
